Doctoral Seminar No. 5

At the fifth seminar of the project’s seminar series, the PhD student Helena Geisler will present a paper on “Importance and Construction of Fit to Team, Organisation and Supervisor in Hiring: A Mixed Method Study”.

Assessing applicants’ fit with the organisation, supervisor, and team is a core task in the hiring process. This mixed-method study in German-speaking Switzerland examines how different types of fit are prioritised and legitimised. Drawing on a survey of 2351 HR managers across more than 90 occupational fields and interviews with 35 HR managers from six fields, the study shows the particular importance of team fit and the diversity of its legitimations.     *Co-authors: Antje Stefani and Irene Kriesi.
