The eighth VET Congress, which takes place in Lausanne, focuses on key issues in vocational education and training. It highlights three main themes: the potential of various forms of work-study alternation, challenges around career choice, and the transferability of the Swiss dual education system.
The congress explores three important topics that are shaping contemporary vocational education. The topics in this year’s programme include the main themes of ‘The potential of the different forms of alternation in VET/PET’, ‘Vocational choice, issues still under debated’ and ‘Transferability of the dual-track VET System’ (see below for more information).
The event takes place from 3rd to 5th September, 2025 in Lausanne, and is a collaboration between the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training SFUVET, the University of Lausanne (UNIL), and the University of Teacher Education, State of Vaud (HEP-Vaud).
