On 29 September 2026, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences will host the event “ERA Chair in Bulgaria: Contribution to Society and Challenges for the Future”. The event will present three key projects under the ERA Chair mechanism of the Horizon Europe Programme, coordinated by the Institute of Molecular Biology, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, and the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The leading research teams are headed by Prof. S. Dimitrov from IMB-BAS and Université Grenoble Alpes, Assoc. Prof. D. Prodanov from IICT-BAS and KU Leuven, and Prof. Christian Imdorf from IPS-BAS and Leibniz University Hannover.
The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Marin Drinov Hall of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where the projects will be presented, accompanied by short video materials and a discussion. From 12:15 p.m., an exhibition and cocktail reception will take place in the Central Foyer of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
The event aims to highlight the contribution of ERA Chair projects to the development of research and innovation in Bulgaria and to encourage dialogue on the challenges and future prospects of the Bulgarian research system.
